Welcome to the County of San Diego Department of Agriculture, Weights & Measures 2024 Crop Report Home.

As stewards of one of California’s most vibrant and diverse agricultural regions, we are committed to providing transparent and accurate insights into San Diego County’s thriving agricultural landscape. We are proud to present our 2024 Crop Statistics and Annual Report, which offers a comprehensive overview of the acreage, yield, and value of agricultural production across the county, as well as highlights of our ongoing programs and services.

In 2024, San Diego’s agricultural industry produced $1.67 billion in direct economic output, an increase of $18 million, or 1.1%, from 2023. Though agricultural acreage declined from 210,732 to 207,322 acres, the region’s farmers and ranchers continued to demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and commitment to sustainable practices. This year’s report highlights both the economic value of our crops and the dedication of those working the land.

This report delivers concise crop data and spotlights key programs that support food security, trade, public health, and sustainability. Through regulation, outreach, and partnerships, we safeguard the public, foster agricultural innovation, and protect the sector’s future. Our role ensures a safe food supply, vibrant economy, and healthy environment for all.

We thank the producers, industry groups, public agencies, stakeholders, and our department staff for their essential contributions and dedication, which have made these achievements possible for San Diego agriculture.
